Walk4Lanka raises funds to provide humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka

APSL organised a fundraising walk under the slogan ‘Walk4lanka’ on the 25th September 2022. The event was well attended by over 100 members and well wishers.  Amongst the dignitaries who graced this event were Sri Lankan High Commissioner H.E. Mrs Saroja Sirisena, Lord Mayor of Oxford, Mr James Fry, Chief Executive of Oxfordshire County Council, Ms. Susanna Pressel and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Prof. Kapila Goonasekera.

 

The picturesque site consisting of two adjoining reservoirs ensured all walkers enjoyed the day and make it a memorable event for all participants.

 

The walk has to date raised approx. £9000. We wish to thank all donors who have contributed to this worthy cause, to provide our humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka.

 

We wish to thank the ‘APSL Walk4lanka committee’ in particular our member Mrs. Nilimini Roelans for initiating this project and promoting this for APSL.
