Mr Samith (Sam) Jayasena
It is with deep sorrow that we report the death of Mr Sam Jayasena.
Beloved husband of Pulmali, loving father of Sachini, Suhara and Senoli; ever loving son of Sarath and Seetha and much loved brother of Sesiri, Dilki and Saman.
A founding member of the Association of Professional Sri Lankans in the UK, (APSL), Sam was a member of the Executive Committee for four years; and served as the Deputy Secretary for a short period.
A highly practical man with an unassuming nature, he was driven by an urge to serve and make a difference to the lives of people in Sri Lanka - the island he loved. Sam played an active role in APSL’s relief and reconstruction effort after the Boxing Day Tsunami. Kind and generous and dependable, he was much loved and respected by everyone who knew him.
Sam passed away last Saturday after a short illness. The funeral will take place at the Hendon Crematorium, London, at 2.00p.m. this Saturday 5 December.
It is with deep sorrow that we bid farewell to a much loved friend and respected colleague and fellow Sri Lankan.
Deeply missed, but never forgotten. Let us remember Sam and his family in our thoughts & prayers.
